What is Strategy

At LeadingCulture, we believe that having a sound methodology for planning is critical for success.  Building an effective strategy must be based on solid data and a sound understanding of the business environment it supports, the clients/community served and trends that have impact

The Process

 STEP 1: ENVIRONMENTAL SCANNING

The goal of this step is to get a clear understanding of the current state by conducting the following inquiry

  • Stakeholders Analysis - both internal and external such as investors, customers/clients, suppliers, partners, staff and society
  • Situational Review - explore factors that influence the business such as Economic and Political/policy trends, Technology, society trends and competition
  • Organization Diagnostic.  Conducting a internal review of the current state.  This may take the form of a hard measure and soft tool like a SWOT or other internal diagnostic.

STEP 2:  MISSION, VISION AND VALUES

  • A mission clearly states what we do.
  • Our Vision paints the picture of the desired state at some point in the future.  It often creates some create tension with the current state.
  • Our Values are how we go about achieving our mission and vision.  It is really identifying the behaviours that will make us successful

STEP 3: CRAFT A VALUE PROPOSITION

  • A value proposition defines the value that we bring to our customers/clients. 

STEP 5: ESTABLISH STRATEGIC GOALS

  • Strategic goals identify the core directions to achieve our Mission and Vision.  In essence the organization is making choice about priorities.
